So, firespinning. Cool hobby that I’m about to pick up. i’ve been fascinated with pyrotechnics for a while, but i just made myself some poi. And the material I used for wick was tiki torch wick wrapped around cotton. Worked fairly well. I also used steel wool. I was rooting around my bathroom looking for some tweezers today, and lo and behold, i see a box of tampons. not surprising...

I volunteer at an ambulance service, and because of this, i get a text whenever we get a call. recently, my phone has decided that it will make all of my texts into emoticons, so i get a garbled message about a GI bleed or a psych emaergency, and whenever a cross street starts with a p, my phone puts in the :P face.

so,in class tonight, one of our scenarios had this dispatch information “dispatch to male, 30, fallen from tree, approximately 15 feet.”
the first question someone asked was “is it a residence?”
my instructors prompt response was “No, what do you think, it’s a tree!”
